Why Choose Aqua-Hab?

   Experience in Aquatic Systems Rehabilitation

Since 1989, we've worked with folks across government, tribal and private sectors to restore aquatic systems to their former grandeur. With nearly 30 years of experience in riparian ecosystem evaluation, we provide clients with sustainable options that are guaranteed to not only mitigate riverbank erosion but also reclaim those natural aquatic habitats as places of awe-inspiring beauty.

   Superior Aquatic Landscape Design

Water has a mind of its own, so it's our job to tap into nature-based solutions that take into account both your vision and Mother Nature's unruly surprises. From erosion control to creating a healthy trout fishery, our recipe blends environmental science with aquatic landscape design. Enhance watershed improvements with rock art, tranquil ponds or waterfall features that are functional and easy on the eyes.

 Aquatic Environmental Preservation & Sustainability

We know ponds, rivers, wetlands and floodplains operate on their own time, so we strive to work with these geological processes. From shaping small, backyard wetland oases to steering large, river restoration projects, Aqua-Hab uses eco-conscious environmental engineering practices and efficient, sensitive construction tactics. We make every effort to utilize only the most sustainable strategies.

Who is Aqua-Hab?

Aqua-Hab owner and founder, Corey Sue Hutchinson, moved to Southwest Colorado in 1989 to serve as fisheries biologist for the San Juan National Forest. She's since established herself as a true pioneer in river rehabilitation, launching her personal consulting firm, Aqua-Hab, in 1994. With a passion for ecological preservation, Corey Sue pairs intuition with her education in water flow and skills in wetlands restoration, fish habitat improvements and erosion control in the complex fisheries of the San Juan River Basin.
